THE TEAM

Anna Ros

Artistic director and performer

The co-founder of LABÚ, Anna both creates and performs in the company’s productions.

From an early age, her interest in the body in motion, firstly in the form of artistic gymnastics and classical dance, led her to take a Bachelor’s Degree in Performing Arts, majoring in physical theatre at the Barcelona Institute of  Theatre. Ever since, her passion has been the study of body movement as a geometric spatial form of the body and its ability to convey the invisible world that surrounds us. Driven by this desire to discover new languages in which form and movement are the conduit of expression that connects us with feeling, she went on to specialize in corporeal mime, studying under the French master Ètienne Decroux in London.

Anna’s need to give form to the invisible and her unique perspective on the world and the values she embodies give her the strength to embrace a constant quest for her own dramatic language and a space in which to come together with the audience. This intrinsic impetus is the driving force that shapes LABÚ’s artistic work.

She is currently focusing her energies on studying, reflection and directing. She also runs courses on ”Awakening the Poetic Outlook” for both children and adults, as well as guiding the creative processes of other performers in relation to artistic direction and visual dramaturgy.

Moreover, since 2019, she has supervised the artistic direction and production of large events.

Andreu Sans

Assistant director and performer

The co-founder of LABÚ, Andreu both creates and performs in the company’s productions.

The performing arts have been his chosen path in life since a very young age. Andreu trained as an actor at the Jaques Lecoq Theatre School founded by Berty Tovías, the Barcelona Institute of Theatre and the Theatre De L’Ange Fou International School of Corporeal Mime in London, as well as studying the Meisner technique under Javier Galitó Cava.

His passion for embracing the infinite scope of his craft helps him grow as a actor with a drive to discover and master a diverse range of dramatic languages and ways to tell stories. This quest has led him to share the stage with and learn from other artists such as Manolo Alcantara, the Companyia La Tal and Leandre Ribera.

This journey of discovery led him to pursue a vital need to build a form of artistic expression to understand the world around him. His open and keenly receptive perspective enables him to carve out new paths in the narrative of movement, where rhythm and everything else that the body generates in space and time become the heartbeat of his creation in LABÚ.
